2011 Coaching Clinic Announced

On Saturday, March 26, Ohio Northern University will once again be hosting a Coaching Clinic for high school, club, and youth coaches.

Check in will begin at 9:30am with the first coaching session to begin at 10:00am. The day will conclude around 4:00pm.

It's going to be a fun and informative day as we learn from some of the best college coaches in the game today!!!

To register, simply email Brent Ridenour (b-ridenour@onu.edu) and he will send you a registration form. Registration is only $75 if you register before March 18. Registration is $85.00 if you register after March 18th. Discounts available: If more than one coach attends from the same high school, same club, or same youth organization, each coach receives $10.00 off the above prices.

Mike Tucker, University of Dayton, Head Women’s Soccer Coach

Entering his 16th season at the helm in 2010, University of Dayton head coach Mike Tucker has built the Flyers into one of the Atlantic 10 Conference's premier programs during his tenure. The three-time A-10 Coach of the Year and reigning 2009 NSCAA Region Coach of the Year boasts a 216-80-22 lifetime record and a .714 winning percentage. The Flyers have won the Atlantic 10 more often than not under Tucker, as UD has tallied nine regular season conference titles in 15 seasons, six conference tournament championships, six NCAA tournament appearances, and a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16.

Tucker has a long tradition of molding his student-athletes into winners both on the field, and more importantly, in the classroom. Under Tucker, the Flyers have captured 10 consecutive Team Academic Awards (team GPA of 3.0 or higher) from the NSCAA, while eight Flyers have earned Academic All-District recognition and four have been named Academic All-America.

Dave Knapp, Goalkeeper Trainer, Ohio Northern University

Dave Knapp is in his 10th season as an assistant coach for the ONU men’s soccer program. His main focus is the goalkeepers. The Columbus, Ohio, native was a four-year starter in goal for the Polar Bears from 1989-1992. Knapp was a four-time All-Conference honoree, earning Second Team honors in 1989, 1990 and 1992 and Honorable Mention kudos in 1991. He is ONU’s all-time career leader in saves and ranks second all-time in the Ohio Athletic Conference in saves with 484.

Mark Batman, Ohio Northern University, Head Women’s Soccer Coach

Head coach Mark Batman is in his seventh season at the helm of the Ohio Northern women's soccer program.

Batman is the fourth head women's soccer coach at Ohio Northern University after starting at ONU in the spring of 2004.

In 2009, Batman led Northern to the OAC Tournament Championship game and finished runner-up for the third consecutive season. The OAC Tournament appearance was ONU's fifth in Batman's six years as head coach. In 2007, Batman led the Polar Bears to an 8-0-1 mark in the OAC and their first OAC regular season title since 1998.

Batman was named OAC Coach of the Year in 2007.

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2010 Coaching Clinic. It was a great success as we learned from coaches from the University of Dayton, Bowling Green State University, Wright State University, Case Western Reserve University and Ohio Northern University.
